Acopia Networks Appoints Bruce Bergman to Board of Directors

Leading industry figure joins company's board as it embarks on rapid business growth and customer expansion

Lowell, Mass., July 13, 2004 - Acopia Networks, the innovator of Adaptive Resource Networking, today announced that Bruce Bergman, former President and CEO of Brocade Communications Inc., has joined its Board of Directors. Bergman is a leading figure in the high technology industry, with over 15 years experience as CEO of high growth companies in the networking, computing and storage industry sectors.

Bergman's distinguished career in the technology industry spans over 30 years. He previously served as President and CEO of Brocade Communications, ATG Cygnet Inc., Proteon, Inc. and Xylogics, Inc. His career also includes over a decade at Control Data Corporation, where he was General Manager of both the Mini-Peripheral and Large-Peripheral Systems divisions. Bergman currently is Principal of Bergman & Associates, a high technology consulting and investment practice, and serves on the boards of DataCore Software Corp. and iVivity Inc.
