Acopia Networks Selects Electronics Manufacturing Services Provider Jabil Circuit for Turnkey Services

Lowell, MA - December 11, 2003 - Acopia Networks, Inc., the pioneer of Adaptive Resource Networking products, today announced it selected Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NYSE: JBL), a world leading electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, to manufacture circuit board and sub-assemblies for Acopia's family of network switches.

Jabil will initially provide Acopia with full turnkey manufacturing services for the assembly and testing of circuit boards and sub-assemblies used in Acopia's adaptive resource switching systems. Jabil will also support Acopia with all aspects of procurement, manufacturing, supply chain management, system integration and production distribution.

"After careful evaluation, we chose the partner that will provide our customers with world-class quality, lowest cost and global distribution capabilities," said Mark Terenzoni, vice president of operations for Acopia. "It is critical that we manage the quality and reliability aspects of our system as we ramp our business of selling new generation switches to large enterprise customers. Jabil's depth of experience in the manufacturing and distribution of sophisticated networking products, and their demonstrated ability to ramp products in an accelerated and demanding environment, make us comfortable that they are the best manufacturing partner for Acopia."

Acopia is pioneering a new class of network switch - called the adaptive resource switch - to deliver an on-demand network infrastructure to today's network, server and storage system infrastructure. The adaptive resource switches uniquely enable the network to become application aware and therefore make more efficient use of existing resources throughout a global enterprise.

"Acopia's technology and business model align well with Jabil's global capabilities," said Steve Borges, Jabil's vice president of business development. "We are well positioned to support their product development initiatives and overall growth expectations of their business."
