Acopia Networks Names Christopher Lynch President & CEO

Chelmsford, MA - August 22, 2002 - Acopia Networks, the venture-funded startup delivering next generation web services infrastructure, announced today the appointment of Christopher Lynch to the position of President & CEO. In this role Mr. Lynch will provide strategic guidance and leadership enabling Acopia to continue its growth and development.

A leading player in the field of computer networking, Mr. Lynch brings more than 16 years of sales & marketing management and business expertise to his new position.

Prior to joining Acopia, Mr. Lynch was Vice President of Worldwide Content Delivery Networking Sales at Cisco Systems. In this position, he established and expanded Cisco's presence in the Content Delivery Market and under his leadership, Cisco assumed market leadership in this area. Previously, Mr. Lynch was Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Support at ArrowPoint Communications, which was acquired by CISCO Systems. Lynch was instrumental in ArrowPoint's IPO in April, of 2000, leading an organization that grew revenues from zero to a $250 million dollar sales run-rate over 18 months, and established 60 sales and support offices worldwide. Prior to that, Mr. Lynch has held various senior sales and marketing management positions with Lucent Technologies, Prominet Corporation (acquired by Lucent Technologies), Bay Networks, and Wellfleet Communications.
